Quick Goal Setting Exercise

Today is just a quick post about goal setting. I sit down with my clients and go over a whole action plan when we get started, so for now I just want you to ask yourself these few questions to get you thinking:

  • What specifically do I want to achieve?
  • Why do I want to achieve it?
  • Once achieved, what will that change in my life?
  • Was my answer to the first question what I really, truly want?

For example:

  • I want to do a trek to Machu Picchu in May 2013
  • I want to achieve this because it has been on my Bucket List for a very long time and I love the idea of visiting a destination because of it’s culture, not just as a holiday.
  • Life is about experiences and enjoying every-day so by doing this I will have had an amazing experience with amazing people which will enrich my life forever.
  • Right now yes, that is one of my big goals for 2013 because of all the health issues I have had recently.

Bottom line: Create enough meaning to your goal and it’s more likely to happen.

To a happier and healthier you
