be brilliant nowIn my last post 8 Principles For Brilliance I spoke about what tools you need to be brilliant. Today is an extension of that.

I used to wake up in the morning, not every morning, but some, and feel terrible! Refused to get out of bed, just wanted to stay there and keep myself comfortable.

This sounds familiar, doesn’t it?

Now, every morning I get out of bed with a smile on my face, a spring in my step and a surge of energy running through my body that just shouts ‘YAY!’

How is this possible? Where did the change come from? Well it came from me, of course. More importantly, it came from my mind.

Let me ask you, who controls how you feel and what you do? Your partner? Your family? Your friends? Nope, wrong! There is no one on this planet that can control you… except you.

Your thoughts control your actions and your actions control your results. It’s that simple.

If your head is constantly playing the same old tune, I don’t want, I can’t, I won’t etc, then how do you think your actions are going to come out? Negatively, right? You need to believe in yourself and your own abilities. We are perfect the way we are, nothing needs fixing, we just have to get out there and go for it.

There is no failure, only feedback

Changing your state is as easy as pulling out a memory. Let’s try it right now; think of a time you were totally excited, feel what you felt at the time, hear what you heard and see what you saw – pull this picture up in your mind as big and bright as you possibly can. Now do some kind of action to signify that particular event, throw your arms up in the air with a big ‘YES!’ or whatever will put a smile on your face.

Once you’ve done that repeat the same process with two other memories.

Guess what you just did? You rewired your brain so that every time you do that particular action you will be excited, awesome right?
